QUESTION OF THE DAY: What's the first major news event that you remember hearing about as a child? Where did you learn about it? How did it impact your world view?


I remember watching the rescue of Baby Jessica, which makes it, most likely, my first memory ever. She fell into the well on October 14 1987 and was rescued on the 16th, eleven days after my second birthday. (That alone surprises me because I cant believe I remember that, I was just a baby myself. I had thought it happened in '88 or '89.)

I remember telling my momma several years ago that I remembered Jessica being saved and her reaction was pretty much: "FOR SRS? WTH!" She said it must've traumatised me, for me to remember it. xD

As for affecting my world view-- I love to watch drama. This is clearly the source.
